CHICAGO – March 2020– Imperial LLC, a Tulsa, Oklahoma based vending company, is helping to lead NAMA’s Public Health Commitment, NAMA, to substantially increase the percentage of ‘better for you’ offerings to 33% in the nation’s vending machines.
The commitment represents a nearly 40% increase over current levels of ‘better for you’ offerings – those that meet at least two recognized public health standards.
“With more than 12,000 vending machines throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri – Imperial is proud to help lead this commitment. We care about the customers we serve and this is one way we can help, in terms of making healthier choices available. It is the right thing to do,” said Lance Whorton, CEO of Imperial.

NAMA’s Public Health Commitment was launched formally in October in New York City at a special briefing featuring leaders from the convenience services industry, as well as representatives from public health partners including the Partnership for a Healthier America and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
The commitment is the latest and most comprehensive effort by the industry directed at public health. Beginning in 2005 with the launch of FitPick, a ‘better for you’ labelling program, the industry has worked collaboratively with industry members and national public health organizations to be part of the solution.
